- 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- Whip the cream in a cold metal or glass bowl with an electric mixer fitted with a whisk attachment or hand mixer using regular beaters.
- Use medium speed at first increasing speed to high as the cream begins to thicken.
- Add sugar and vanilla, and continue to beat until firm peaks form.
- Do not overbeat which could result in sweet butter.
